Corfu riots - today!

Taken from http://www.vraxonisida.gr

The main target of the riots were the two police stations in the centre of the town. Some cars burned, the Sarocco police station was attacked and a police car burned as well.

What am I missing? Not that attacking the police stations is the right thing to do but at least there is a logic (the police shot a 15yr old) behind it. What is the reason to destroy a department store or a bank? Did the clothes not fit you or that wasn't your bank branch so it was ok to damage it? What am I missing? I've been part of many protests, even one that took over quite a large building at my University. But noone was hurt and no major damage(locks had to be replaced) was done. We were in every newspaper and on every news station. We were heard, respected and 'won' our battle. If the government needs to do more, what has the public done? I don't know what the Greeks in Greece think. The Greeks in NYC think it's insane and sad. Just wondering... regarding the students disrespecting property, do their parents know what their children are up to?

The underlying problem in Greece stems from a LACK of respect for authority and the failure to understand consequences....

Children are placed on such a high pedastool that it's a wonder why they aren't born with guaze in their noses to stop their nosebleeds...

Such a pity....
